Maltese, French Poodle & Yorkie Rescue South Africa is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abandoned, surrendered, neglected, and abused small breed dogs—particularly Maltese, French Poodles, Yorkies, and their crossbreeds.
Founded on compassion and driven by a deep love for animals, our mission is simple: to give every dog in our care a second chance at life and love. Whether they come to us from heartbreaking circumstances, failed adoptions, or shelters that can no longer care for them, we offer these dogs a safe haven where they can begin to heal physically and emotionally.
We operate entirely on the kindness of volunteers and donors, receiving no government funding. Every cent donated goes directly toward veterinary care, food, grooming, sterilisation, shelter, and the essential day-to-day needs of our rescues. Many of the dogs we take in are sick, elderly, or traumatised, and we commit to caring for them for as long as it takes—sometimes for life.
We believe in ethical, responsible rehoming. Each potential adopter is carefully screened to ensure a safe, loving, and permanent home. We also provide ongoing support and education, empowering new pet parents to give their furry companions the best possible life.
Beyond adoption, we encourage the public to get involved through fostering, volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word. Together, we can change the lives of these animals—one rescue at a time.
